Scott McNeely, owner and president of McNeely Pest Control, Inc, is considered among the top technical entomologists in the United States. In December 2011, McNeely was recognized for such at the Mallis Handbook Technical Forum presented by TCT Magazine.

McNeely is a second generation pest control operator with more than 30 years experience in the industry. An active member of the Entomological Society of America and Phi Chi Omega service fraternity, he was recognized at the forum held Dec. 5-7 at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, as being one of 25 editors to vote on the tenth edition of the Mallis Handbook of Pest Control.

The Mallis Handbook was first published in 1945. Its author was entomologist Arnold Mallis, who at the time was helping the U.S. Public Health Service implement malaria control programs in Louisiana.
