McNeely Pest Hires Wildlife Biologist

Andrew Cole has recently been hired by McNeely Pest Control to serve as Wildlife Biologist and supervisor under its Wildlife Damage Control Division.

Cole has a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Ecology and Management, with minors in Forestry and General Biology from Frostburg State University in Western Maryland. While he has spent the majority of his life in Central Maryland, Cole has been a resident of North Carolina at various points throughout his life.

Since he was a young boy, Cole has had an affinity for the natural world — developing a life passion for hunting, trapping, and wildlife photography at an early age. From his education to his career, he has devoted his life to protecting and preserving wildlife.

After graduating from Foxburg in 2005, Cole worked as a research technician on the Baltimore Ecosystem Study (BES), where he researched emerging diversity and inclusion in the urban environment. He left the BES project after one year to accept a job with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Cole spent the next five years working as a Wildlife Management Technician for the Edenton Management Depot in the coastal plain region of North Carolina. It was here that he conducted active wildlife and land management research on game lands and permitted hunting areas. It was also during his time here that he began to develop a knack for trapping and solving nuisance wildlife issues, handling the nuisance beaver, muskrat, and otter problem on game lands.

In the summer of 2011, Cole acquired his wildlife damage control certification and accepted his current position with McNeely Pest Control. In addition to time spent outdoors, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsay.

He and Lindsay have been together five years and married for one. They decided to relocate to the area for advancement opportunities, as well as to be closer to their families whom both reside in Charlotte, NC.
