McNeely Pest Control, Inc, a Copesan Partner Company, hosted the Copesan Technical Committee in Winston Salem this past week. On Sunday evening, the group gathered for a cookout with a bluegrass band. The Copesan group, made up of entomologists from across the United States, had the opportunity to search for insects, that are native to the Piedmont, in the wooded area surrounding the event location. On Monday, the group started their tour of Winston-Salem businesses and area research facilities in the Research Triangle Park.

The Office of Governor Pat McCrory recently announced appointments for open positions within the state of North Carolina. McNeely Pest Control, Inc is happy to announce that Scott McNeely, President of McNeely Pest Control, Inc, has been appointed to the NC Structural Pest Control Committee. Scott received his Bachelor of Science in Entomology from North Carolina State University and has been working towards this goal for a long while. We couldn’t be happier for him!
The NC Structural Pest Control Committee is in charge of a wide variety of tasks in the NC pest control industry:
Approves applications for structural pest control licenses
Holds public hearings for adopting, denying, revoking or suspending new amendments to current rules and regulations
Certifies applicators’ cards or registered technicians’ cards
Assesses civil penalties
The term length for this committee is four years. Have a great next four years Scott!
